"Clean toilets, but a little cramped"
Went to Tyneside Cinema last week and, to be honest, after paying I was a bit wary and half-expecting something to feel a bit neglected. But the toilets were actually clean — no weird smells, no mess, and soap was stocked, which was a relief. They are on the small side though, so there was a bit of a queue when the film ended. Hand dryers worked fine too. Could maybe do with a refresh, but overall they were totally fine

"Pretty easy to book, honestly"
I booked a couple of seats online and, it was all straightforward. Nothing too complicated, which I appreciated. The site did get a little slow when I was paying and for a second I was like, okay, is this actually going through or what, but it did in the end. Got the email confirmation quickly after that too, so yeah, no real issues overall.

"Great spot, but I’d avoid driving"
I’ve always liked Tyneside Cinema partly because it’s in such a convenient bit of town. If you’re getting the Metro or a bus, it’s really easy, and even from the train station it’s not a bad walk at all. I’m a bit biased because I prefer places in the city centre anyway, so this works well for me.

The only thing that puts me off is the parking. It can be a faff finding somewhere nearby, and when you do, it’s usually not cheap. Personally I’d say it’s much better if you’re using public transport rather than driving in

"I went to Tyneside Cinema and grabbed a..."
I went to Tyneside Cinema and grabbed a coffee and a few snacks before the film. It was all fine, just nothing that really stood out. The coffee was decent, but because the food didn’t feel that fresh, it seemed a bit expensive for what it was. The staff were friendly enough, which helped. I’d still go back for the cinema, but next time I’d probably eat somewhere else first.

"Not worth the ticket price"
I left feeling disappointed. The ticket was way too expensive for what you actually get, and it didn’t feel like the experience matched the price at all. I ended up reaching out to customer service because it was frustrating enough that I felt it needed to be addressed...

"Really solid cinema experience"
I went to see a film here last week and had a great time. The picture quality was really clear, with no weird marks or dull patches, and the sound was powerful enough to make the movie feel properly immersive. It did get a little loud in a couple of scenes, but nothing that spoiled the experience. The seats were comfortable enough too. Overall, it felt like a well-run cinema that knows what it’s doing, and I’d definitely feel confident going back

"Haven’t been finding much that grabs me lately"
I don’t know, the movie choices lately just feel kind of samey to me. I’ll scroll through and think maybe I’ll find something different, then somehow it all starts blending together. The programming could definitely be more interesting, or at least have a little more variety. Maybe I’m just being picky, but I haven’t really seen much that makes me want to watch.

"Lovely spot for indie films in Newcastle"
I’ve been to Tyneside Cinema a few times now to catch independent and arthouse films, and it’s always a really nice break from the usual big chain cinema vibe. The screens are comfy enough, and the building itself has loads of character, which makes the whole experience feel a bit more special 🙂
I’m giving it 4 stars because tickets and snacks can feel a little pricey, and one of the screenings I went to started a bit late. That said, I’d still happily go back, especially if you’re into smaller films you don’t get to see everywhere else

"The seats and toilets were clean enough..."
The seats and toilets were clean enough, so I can’t really complain. I did notice a few small bits here and there, but nothing that ruined the visit or anything. It was one of those places where you think, yeah, this is fine, and then your mind kind of moves on to whatever you’re doing next.

"Bottom line, I won’t be renewing..."
Bottom line, I won’t be renewing my membership. I paid for it thinking the savings and perks would make up for the yearly cost, but in the end I barely saved anything. The benefits felt weak, and it just didn’t feel worth it...

"I went last weekend and the crowd was..."
I went last weekend and the crowd was just awful!!! People were talking, checking their phones, and even laughing during the quiet scenes!!! The staff didn’t seem to notice or really care, which made it even more frustrating. I left feeling annoyed, definitely not what I expected from a small cinema!!!

"The Queue Really Needs Better Organization"
I waited way longer than I should have because the queue was a complete mess. I get that places get busy, but it’s only fair to have a clear system so people are served in the order they arrived. A little basic organization and consideration would go a long way.

"Umm, I grabbed a coffee and a snack..."
Umm, I grabbed a coffee and a snack here before the film and it was nice overall. The coffee was good, the snacks were decent, and the staff were friendly. It did get a bit busy at the bar, but nothing too bad.

"Getting Around Was Fine, but a Bit Stressful"
The lift definitely helped, and I was relieved it was there, but I felt a little frustrated because the signs weren’t very clear. I managed in the end, but it would’ve been a much smoother experience if it was easier to figure out where to go.

"A Gorgeous Old Cinema Full of Character"
Such a beautiful old cinema with loads of charm and personality. Walking in feels a bit like stepping into another era, which I absolutely loved. The only tiny tragedy is that the seats could definitely be a bit comfier, but the building itself is so lovely it almost makes up for it.

"Nice cinema, though my latest visit felt a little flat"
I went to a screening here last week, and overall it was decent. The auditorium was clean and the seats were comfortable enough, but the vibe just felt a bit quiet and chilly to me. Maybe I’m comparing it too much to a really cosy cinema I visited recently, but this one didn’t quite have that warm buzz I was hoping for. Still, nothing was actually bad, and I’d probably go again

"I don’t know if it was just..."
I don’t know if it was just me, but the seats felt really cramped and my back started hurting quickly. I kept shifting around trying to get comfortable, but nothing helped. Has anyone else felt this way?

"Sound really let the film down"
Went to Tyneside Cinema last weekend and, the place itself is nice enough — lovely atmosphere and all that, but the sound really wasn’t great.

The voices were quiet, then suddenly the music and effects would come blasting in, it was a bit much. I kept missing bits of dialogue, which got more annoying as the film went on.

Maybe it was just the screen we were in, who knows, but for the ticket price I did expect better. I’d probably think twice before booking again unless they sort the audio out...

"Staff were nice enough"
The staff were friendly and polite, but the service did feel a little slow here and there. Nothing bad happened, it just didn’t feel quite as warm or welcoming as I was hoping

"Fun festival vibe, but the chaos nearly finished me"
I went to a festival screening the vibe was really nice — definitely felt more special than a normal cinema trip. The staff were friendly enough too. But wow, the booking process had me questioning all my life choices for a minute, and the timing between events felt so rushed I practically needed running shoes. Overall, I did enjoy it and I’d probably go again, but I was hoping it would be a bit smoother
